Just because a game is popular doesn't mean the same exact people are playing for 6 years straight. People have been playing CoD for 20 years, Counter Strike 1.6 for longer, FIFA and Madden for even longer. I don't think it's strange at all that one of the bestselling games of all time (I think its the bestselling) is still active after 6 measly years, especially when it's a sandbox t The most obvious difference is how GTA Online is a multiplayer game, and GTA 5 is a single-player game. However, that isn't the only reason for the two games being so different. Several of GTA Nobody walks in GTA, let alone you'll never get anyone to ride the whole map in golf carts on a regular basis. So the map has to be smaller. Yes, the GTA map might be a little bigger but the RDR2 map is way prettier. GTA V is based of 1 city. RDR2 Is based of multiple states in the U.S.A.
